How flight alerts work

Set it once, then forget about it

Airfares move constantly — the same seat can swing 30% or more between one week and the next as airlines adjust to demand. Watching manually means checking the same route over and over and usually missing the drop anyway. An alert does the checking for you.

Set your target price

Pick a route and dates, then tell us the price you would actually book at. Alerts work best when the target is realistic for the season — flights to Southeast Asia in December will not hit their May price.

We check automatically

Every active alert is re-checked against live fares from 360+ airlines. You do not need to keep the page open or check back in — the search runs whether you are here or not.

You get an email

When a fare drops below your target, we email you with the flight and a link straight to booking. You can filter for checked baggage or direct flights only, so you are not alerted about fares you would never take.

Frequently asked questions

Flight alerts, explained

How often are flight alerts checked?

Alerts are checked automatically on a regular schedule. You can also press "Check now" at any time to run all of your alerts immediately.

What target price should I set?

Look at the current price for your route first, then set a target 15-25% below it. Setting a target far below any realistic fare means the alert will simply never trigger.

Can I only get alerts for flights with checked baggage?

Yes. Tick "Only alert for flights with checked baggage" when creating the alert and budget fares without a hold bag will be ignored, so the price you are alerted about is the price you would actually pay.

Do alerts work for one-way flights?

Yes. Switch the trip type to one-way and pick a single departure date. Return alerts track the combined price of both legs.
